First Nations Round Rugby Jersey

The 2025 First Nations Round rugby jerseys were formally presented at Formal Dinner at St Andrew's College on Wednesday night to the Men’s and Women’s Rugby teams. Now in its second year, the initiative recognises and honours First Nations cultures through a dedicated jersey worn in the final round of the Rawson Rugby competition and Women’s 7s Gala Day.

This year the Nick van Gelder Dreamers Foundation is proud to sponsor the jersey.

The initiative was introduced to the College in 2024 by alumni Destiny Batman-Peris (Fr 2021), a proud Bunitj, Gidja and Yawuru woman, as part of her Senior Scholar project. The jersey was designed by Lua Pellegrini, Artist in Residence and a proud Wiradjuri woman.

The Women’s 7s team will wear the jersey this Sunday at the Intercollegiate Gala Day, from 9 am at St John’s Oval, followed by the Rawson Cup Rugby Final on Wednesday, 21 May at 7:30 pm at Sydney Uni Football Oval, where the men’s team will play against St John’s College.
